We need to make this quick as we are wifi-squatting.  Thanks so much for standing with us this week in prayer.  A theme of our entire move comes from our teammate Rachel’s father, “God is never late, but rarely early…”  That sums up everything. We are tired, but, our Father has used this move to build our faith and confirm (several times) His will for our moving here.  Here is a recap.

You prayed for the Lord to confirm whether or not we should purchase a house a few months ago.  Mortgage rates are incredibly low (1.65%) and rent high so it made sense to try and purchase. The Lord answered.  He lead us to a believer who was selling her home and willing to come down on the price.

Earlier this month the downpayment (thanks to an inheritance left to us by Steve’s mother who went to be with the Lord in April) was hung up getting from the USA to Germany.  You prayed and at 1:59:30 PM local time, literally 30 seconds before we needed to show proof of a down payment, the funds appeared in our German account. He is never late… but rarely early.

We moved from Bayonne on Wednesday and ‘most’ of our things arrived on Friday.  Sadly, the movers were dishonest and tried to move our things with 2 small trucks.  So, even though we were well under our budgeted volume, many of our things were left behind.  Of course the movers blamed us for having way too many things. But, Christophe and Laurent, good friends of ours in the southwest of France, are renting a van and driving our remaining things to us next wednesday.  God is never late… but rarely early.

We are grateful to the Lord for this home, which, once we are set up will be a much more strategic location for our European leadership.  We are a 10 minute walk to Black Forest Academy where Julia will be entering her freshman year and Annie her junior year. Funds permitting, we will make our first floor into a guest facility and office space, allowing us to host/mentor the leaders we serve across Europe.  Also, another plus is that travel from the Basel airport (20 minutes away) will make visiting our church planting teams much easier and less expensive.

All this to say…  we are grateful to our Lord and continue to be grateful for you!  You have been faithful partners in prayer, who stand with us, many of you, on a daily basis.

Love and blessings in Jesus,

Auf Wiedersehen…

Steve, Sara, Annie and Julia

Up next week…  we will be asking you to pray for the acquisition of a discipleship training facility in Marseille, France
