Dear Epaphras,

June was a busy month and July is proving to be even busier.  Annie and I (Steve) were in Haiti, teaching at the YWAM Cap Haitian DTS.  We were privileged to minister with 27 students, the majority of whom are Haitian 20-30 year olds whom our Lord is preparing for full time service to and from Haiti.  Haiti has changed a lot since since I lived there in the early 90s. While the country was devastated from the 2010 earthquake, multiple hurricanes and continued political corruption, the church is growing and disciples are being made.  The talk among the staff and students is that God is preparing a generation to change Haiti.

Awa was an amazing translator, fluent in English, French, Haitian Creole, Bambara and about 3 other african  dialects. Together, we taught on the Fatherhood of God, our adoption into His family through Christ and what it means to live and minister from a heart secure in our Father’s love.  We (the students, myself and Annie) were all impressed afresh by our Father’s unending love for us! The 15 hours of teaching flew by.

Please continue praying for Haiti which has made the news of late due to continued corruption and political unrest.  Ask the Lord to raise up a generation of God fearing men/women who will lead the country with righteousness! Ask the Lord also to call, prepare and send Gospel heralds FROM Haiti to evangelize the nations.

While Annie and I were in Haiti, Sara and Julia hosted Sara’s mother and aunt who basically packed our entire house.  What a joy it was to arrive home to so much of the packing already done! Thank you Joyce! Thank you Char!

URGENT ITEM 4 PRAYER :  On the way home from Haiti I met Sara in Germany and our loan was approved! We are all set to finish packing and leave Bayonne in 5 days.  The day we arrive in Germany we meet with the seller and lawyers to close on our home. While our loan was approved, we just found out that our down payment has been delayed in crossing the ocean from the USA to Germany. Would you please ask the Lord with us to free up those funds before next Wednesday? Without those funds the contract might be cancelled.  Thank you in advance for asking God to move.

With respect to ministry in Germany, we just appointed Rick Gascho as area leader over Germany and Austria.  Rick, who grew up in Austria, alongside his wife Christy, will pioneer our work in these two countries. The consensus in Germany among evangelicals is that now is the time to reach Germany! One German evangelical leader was recently quoted saying, “if we lose Germany (to the Gospel) we lose Europe….”   We are asking the Lord for many new church planting teams to flood Germany in the coming years!

Tonight we are heading to Azereix to say farewell to our friends of 12 years.  Ask the Lord for a Gospel opportunity as we explain His plan for us. Also, on Sunday, the church plant we’ve been a part of locally here in Bayonne is having a goodbye service for us.  Thank you for holding us before the Lord as we close the France chapter of our lives and ministry.

Blessings in Jesus,

Steve for Sara, Annie and Julia
