Sara and Dore finally meet
Dear Epaphras,

Its been three weeks since we’ve last communicated.  And, we want to thank you for praying.  We remain convinced that some crucial foundations of mission activity are prayer, intercession, bold proclamation of the gospel and faith.  On that note, thanks for your ongoing partnership here in France/Europe.

Julia – MRI

Three weeks ago we asked you to pray for Sara who was attending a consortium in London organized by a pharmaceutical company, Agios, who is developing a cure (via gene therapy) for those with Julia’s enzyme deficiency, PKD.  Sara was finally able to meet patients and parents of PKD patients from all over Europe.  It was an overwhelming weekend as much pain and emotions accompanied each story.  Sara finally met Dore in person, a lady we have been in touch with for 10 years – how people live with such challenges apart from Jesus is amazing – who carries their pain, anger, and disappointment?  Agios’ trial drug is available only to non-transfused adults at this time but the potential for Julia and other children is promising.  Please keep praying for our old friends whom we’ve only just met.

This Friday Julia will have an MRI to see what needs to be done with her bile duct.  “If” a replacement surgery is needed, we trust it will set Julia’s digestive tract in order and relieve some of the stomach pain she experiences from time to time.  She is home sick today, vomiting with stomach pain. We will send out a note after Friday’s test.

France

Thanks for praying for Charles and Deborah Bavelloni, our France area leaders.  They have been under incredible spiritual, emotional, financial and physical pressure.  To care for them we made the decision to give them a year’s rest, starting this week.  This means Steve will step in as the France Area Leader – a role he and Philippe (Director of our PI France Mobilization base) shared prior to Charles’ arrival.

hundred's of refugees arrive daily into Europe

Diaspora people’s in Europe

Please be praying for us as we seek to reach out to newly arriving diaspora peoples from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and other war torn countries.  Also, pray for people to reach the 200,000 sex trafficking slaves in France, Germany, Belgium and the UK who’ve come from Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.  Pray for “G”, a french PI missionary, who has just opened a children’s home for Syrian refugees in Greece.  Pray also for Steve who was selected to represent PIONEERS at a Global forum on Diaspora Peoples called NextMove.  Pray for this network to expand and for many, many local and cross cultural missionaries to step into this “kairos moment” when God is bringing the unreached in droves to Europe.

Bayonne small group

We are now four families and two single men who attend.  We take turns hosting in different homes – all within walking and biking distance.  God is giving our group a heart for community and a heart for the lost of Bayonne.  We are grateful for how fast this is growing.

Blessings in Jesus,

Steve and Sara
