group-de-vie2-smallDear Epaphras,
A few quick updates and a call to prayer. Last night we had our first home group meeting here in Bayonne. You’ll see from the picture above that we couldn’t be a more diverse group: French, English, Alsatian, American, Indonesian and Brazilian. All of us live in Bayonne. We are asking the Lord to draw us together as His family that we might shout His love and truth in Bayonne, a city of 180,000 with no present evangelical witness!

URGENT PRAYER NEEDED… In just a few minutes Junior (pastor of our church in Biarritz), Ethan and I (Steve) will be visiting Marie Christine in the hospital who was just diagnosed with a brain tumor. She started attending our church a few months ago. Marie Christine and her husband Alain had been deeply involved with the Jehovah Witness (JW) cult. Their daughter is a regional director for the JWs here in France. It was just last week they announced their faith in Jesus (alone) and plans to leave the JWs. Coincidently (or not) the brain tumor was discovered a few days later. Pray that MC and A’s faith in Jesus would be strong and they would learn to resist our enemy, standing firmly in the faith (Ephesians 6:11). Pray against this obvious spiritual attack – members of their family and local JW community told them they would “pay a high price” for leaving the JW community. Lastly, pray for miraculous healing and MC and A would know the true Jehovah, the one who heals.

Regional Conference
Next week we leave for Hungary and our biennial regional conference. You’ll recall that in 2013 we were nearly 276 men women and children. This year we are nearly 350. We will be gathering in Siofok, Hungary. We will send out more details for prayer next Wednesday. The conference starts Sunday April 26 and ends Saturday May 2. It’s been nearly a year in the planning. Pray for the planning team and last minute details. Pray God would be preparing hearts and minds as we gather in worship. All of our nearly 400 members in Europe live far from family, cross-culturally and in places with dark spiritual pressure. Ask the Lord for refreshment and encouragement for each attendee.

Blessings in Jesus,

Steve, Sara, Annie and Julia
