Here’s how the conversation went… “Mom, how do we know the Bible is true? I mean, what if all these other religions (like Mormonism) are true too?” Lots of good ole fashion apologetics followed. And, I’m not sure my oldest daughter was impressed as we went on about the historical, archaeological, prophetic and textual facts that validate Scripture and buttress our Faith in Jesus.
We ended however marveling on the ONE thing that sets Biblical Christianity apart from all the religions of the World…. GOD CAME TO US! And, THAT is the message of Christmas! THAT is Gospel! Jesus came, and still comes, to save us. He came to do what we could never do. He came because we could never be good enough, or do enough good, to earn His Love. He comes and invites us to be free from bondage to sin and cleansed from a guilty conscience. He comes that we might have life!
It was good to be with grandma Currey. She is a true “light” in her memory care facility; always positive, always encouraging, always forgetful, but loved by all, especially the staff! She remembers our names and that was the best Christmas gift we could have hoped for.
