Dear Epaphras,
I’m writing today from Sarajevo, Bosnia where I’m spending the week with our area leader and church planters.  If you read the news, Bosnia and Serbia are incurring some dire floods.  Across the Balkans 44 are confirmed dead and tens of thousands have been displaced.  Times are desperate.  Pray for the people’s of Serbia and Bosnia. Below are some photos I took yesterday in a town not far from Sarajevo where one of our teams has started a church.  M and D (both Bosnian) have a small group of believers that meet in their home.  They are collecting clothing to distribute to their neighbors who lost absolutely everything in the flood.  Home owners insurance doesn’t exist in Bosnia so these people will have to literally start over from scratch.  Many of these people have just finished rebuilding their homes and lives from the war.  Pray these desperate times will lead many to turn to Jesus.  Ask the Lord to bless this small city, Vares, through the relief efforts of M and D’s church.  Ask the Lord to continue to provide for M and D who live on a very small salary.

I’ve met with three other church planters here who are boldly and faithfully proclaiming Christ.  Sadly, there is little response.  People, they say, will meet once, maybe twice, show interest and then immediately fall away.  I told them I would ask you to pray for more open doors for the Gospel and spiritual breakthroughs.   Other prayer topics :

  • Please pray for God’s healing hand on Julia.  She has had some fainting spells recently and we are seeing a specialist next week to find out exactly whats going on.
  • Thank the Lord with us for good and encouraging visits with our team leaders (A and M – pictured right) in Trieste, Italy whose church is growingandrea-mckenzie
  • Pray also for Steve’s mom, Jean Lee, who has been very comfortable in her assisted living facility in her home town.  However, recently, due to a progression in her Alzheimer’s, we are moving her “upstairs” into a more secure memory care unit.  Please pray that she would make the transition well and enjoy her new room – which actually is more spacious and with a better view.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer. Blessings in Jesus, Steve and Sara
