He laughed at me
Last Saturday I was sharing with a man you have been praying for P about faith in Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas; the virgin birth, the incarnation, Jesus’ life, death and the hope for the forgiveness of sins for all who follow him. P laughed out loud in disbelief, seriously concerned that I could believe such utter nonsense! The conversation reminded me of Paul’s words to the Corinthians,
“…for the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
Pray for P and his girlfriend, S. We are having dinner with them this Sunday. Ask the Lord to lift the blinders the god of this age has placed on them, which keeps them from seeing their spiritual poverty.
Francophone and Iberia
A few weeks ago Charles, Shane and I met here in Bayonne for two days to pray and strategize together about reaching the Basque. Charles is the PIONEERS area leader for French speaking Europe (France, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium) and Shane is the area leader for Iberia (Spain, Portugal and Basque Country). As we met I reflected on the privilege it is to be on team with these godly men. It wasn’t three years ago that we were praying for the Lord to raise up leaders for Western Europe – at the time, our personnel in these countries were under my sole leadership. So, as we close 2013, I want to express my gratitude to you who have been standing with us in prayer. God is multiplying leaders. God is building teams. God is planting His church in Europe!
